Java / Java EE Developer (m/f)

We are looking for a Java developer to support our software team.

You will be working in a small team (that’s expanding) with a shared responsibility for the company’s software stack. You will report directly to the head of software development. Our software stack is a mix of Java and Scala and we prefer a developer who is comfortable in both languages or passionate to learn functional programming using Java/Scala and related frameworks. The main focus of our software stack is on the server side retrieval and analysis of large amounts text data, design and development of server side enterprise APIs to support traditional transactional and reporting systems.

Core tasks

Depending on your profile and experience:

• Development and design of online search related systems.
• Development and design of text analyze related systems.
• Development and design of API for traditional data processing and entry systems.

Skills

You are a passionate Java / Scala developer with a strong sense of responsibility for your own work. You have ideas and opinions and strive to learn new paradigms and concepts and are able to share these in a constructive manner.

Experience with at least a subset of the following technologies / concepts is a preferred:

• Spring Framework
• Play framework
• JPA (Hibernate)
• MongoDB
• SQL
• Webservices
• REST
• Various unit testing frameworks
• Agile development
