JOB SUMMARY

• Manages all engineering/maintenance operations, including maintaining the building, grounds, landscaping and physical plant with particular attention towards health, safety, security, and asset protection. Accountable for managing the budget, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation. Responsible for maintaining regulatory requirements. Leads the emergency response team for all facility issues. Reporting to the General Manager, management company, and the owners in regards to all maintenance, health, fire, life and safety activities

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mechanical, electrical, naval or building and construction Engineering. 4 years practical experience in the engineering and maintenance or related professional area, preferably, large ship, navy or oil taker maintenance engineer. Fluent written and verbal English and Bosnian communication.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Managing Property Operations and Engineering Budgets

• Supervise hotel engineering department and coordinates with other operational departments to maintain the building throughout and carry out preventive maintenance.
• Manage the physical plant rooms including equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, electrical and life safety systems.
  
• Maintain and operate equipment at optimum effectiveness, efficiency, and safety.
  
• Establish and manage an effective room, outlets and back of the house maintenance program.
  
• Ensure compliance with all Engineering departmental policies, standards and procedures as well as all local and federal regulations.
  
• Manage department controllable expenses to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
• Select, coordinate and order or purchase new equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
• Inspect and evaluate the physical condition of facilities to determine the type of work required.
• Recommend or arrange for additional services such as painting, repair work, renovations, and the replacement of furnishings and equipment.
• Supervise the day to day operations of Engineering and schedule the shifts.

• Maintain accurate logs and records as required.
  
• Effectively plan schedule and evaluate preventative maintenance programs.

• Handle guest problems and complaints effectively.
